Answer:

This is a bit distinctive sentence. There is not a familiar rule to change this sentence into indirect. As it is understood that "The present indefinite tense in reported speech” is changed into past indefinite, but if we change the form of the verb in this sentence the word "daily" does not fit to the sentence. The second form of the verb eliminates the sense of habit. It can be changed to add “used to” to it. So the sentence will be more suitable as: He said that he used to go for a walk daily. This is more suitable I think.

Answer:

Grandfather said that he goes for a morning walk daily.

Explanation:

As per the rules, if the reported speech is in simple present tense, then while converting the sentence into indirect narration, we convert simple present into simple past. But as the reported speech is showing a habitual action which takes place daily, we dont convert the tense. Hence, in the answer, go will remain go instead of getting converted to went.
