She was very kind to animals and birds as she used to feed the dogs and sparrows everyday. She took care of him and even when they moved to the city and even though she didn't like that Khushwant Singh went to an English school and learned music,she did not say anything. And when he returned back after higher studies,he was warmly welcomes by the grandmother :)
