Given : Graph of the linear equation ax + by + c = 0 a is not equal to 0

To Find : Graph cuts x axis and y axis respectively at the point

Solution:

ax + by + c = 0

cuts x axis   => y = 0

Substitute y = 0

=> ax + b(0) + c = 0

=> ax +  c = 0

=> x = - c/a

cuts y axis   => x = 0

Substitute x = 0

=> ax(0) + by + c = 0

=> by +  c = 0

=> y = - c/b

cuts x axis   at ( - c/a  , 0)  and  y axis   at ( 0 ,  - c/b   )
