Explanation:

graphite conduts electricity due to delocalizationof the pi bond electrons above and below the planes of the carbon atoms. these electrons are free to move so are able to counduct electricity

Answer:

Allotropes are the different physical forms in which an element can exists.

Allotropes of the same element can have different physical as well as chemical properties.

Carbon has three Allotropes: Graphit, Charcoal and Diamond (which is known to be the hardest element till date)

Your teacher very correctly said that graphite is an allotrope of carbon which can conduct electricity.

It is to be noted, that no other allotrope of carbon except graphite is capable of conducting electricity.

Hope this makes you understand it properly

You can also search it in Google for clearing your all concepts.
