graphite is a soft ,grayish and black crystalline allotrope of carbon. in graphite each carbon atom is attached to three other carbon atoms forming a hexagonal planar structure.
in graphite free election move throughout the entire hexagonal layers and hence graphite is a good conductor of electricity.
