Due to its soft,slippery and dark colour it is used as pencil point

Graphite is a crystalline form of carbon.
It has sp² hybridization.
It has flat hexagonal sheets of C atoms attatched to other sheets.

It is a good lubricant and is black and opaque and hence is used in pencil leads.
