Hey there,

Graphite is a crystalline form of carbon.
It has sp² hybridization.
It has flat hexagonal sheets of C atoms attatched to other sheets.

==================================================

It is a good lubricant and is black and opaque and hence is used in pencil leads.

Graphite is an example of carbon element

graphite feature that allows graphite to be used as a pencil point is
-----------------------
graphite has free electrons in them and the bonds in graphite are not strong they just exist in in for of layers one over the other and these bonds are very weak hence when we write these bonds get broken and the layer comes out which makes it writable and its makes writing very smooth as it is a lubricant
