Graphite is an allotrope of carbon in which carbon attoms are arranged in layers .These layers are held together by weak force called van der wall force. This force is very weak due to which graphite is soft in comparison of diamond. It conduct electricity because only three electrons are involved in covalent sharing one electron is left unpaired .This free electron conduct electricity. Hope it might help you!!!!!!!!
