Concept: The Foodchain is denoted by a pyramid where producers are present at the base, and tertiary consumers are present at the apex.

Given: Grass → Grasshopper → Frog → Snake → Eagle

Find: Maximum and minimum available energy in the food chain.

Explanation: Producers are present at the bottom, and primary, secondary and tertiary consumers are above the producers in the food chain.

1) grass: The producers of the food chain are the plants, which prepare the food by using sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water. The process is known as photosynthesis. According to the 10% law, about 90% of energy decreases at every tropic level. So, producers like grass have the highest available energy.

2) according to the 10% law, the grasshopper has more energy than the frog. The snake has less energy than a frog. Eagle has less energy than snake.

3) eagle has the lowest available energy because it is the last consumer, and energy has been lost in the primary and secondary consumers.

Hence, the answer is grass has the maximum available, and the eagle has the minimum available energy.
