Grass is to be laid in a rectangular plot 15 m long and 13 m wide leaving two triangular sections at opposite edges for two flower beds. If the flower beds are to be equal right-angle isosceles triangles with equal sides measuring 1.5 m each, find out how much would it cost to lay grass at Rs 8 per sq. m ?

It will cost Rs. 1542 to lay grass.

Step-by-step explanation:

There are two triangular sections at the opposite edges of a rectangular plot and they are equal right isosceles triangle with equal sides measuring 1.5 m each.

So, the total area of the two triangular sections together will be 2[\frac{1}{2} \times 1.5 \times 1.5] = 2.25 m².

Now, the area of the rectangular plot excluding the two triangular sections will be = (15 × 13) - 2.25 = 192.75 m².

Therefore, the cost to lay grass at Rs. 8 per m² area will be (192.75 × 8) = 1542 Rs. (Answer)
