Answer:

Grass looks green as due to the presence of a plastid called chloroplast and papaya appears yellow because due to the presence of the plastid chromoplast. The cell organelle responding to this is plastids . the structural feature is that ;

-It contains of numerous membrane layers, embeded (present) in the material called stoma.

-It has 2 membrane layers same as mitochondria.

-It has its own DNA and Ribosomes.

-There are 3 types of plastids :

  CHLOROPLAST- gives green colour , contains chlorophyll and helps in photosynthesis.

  LEUCOPLAST- colourless plastid and stores material like starch, oil and protiens .

  CHROMOPLAST- coloured plastids and provide colour to different parts.

Chromoplasts

Chromoplasts are plastids, organelles responsible for pigment synthesis which imparts colour to fruits. That is why grass looks green papaya looks yellow.
