Given :
- Mass of one object = 10 kg
- Mass of another object = 15 kg
- Gravitational force between the two objects = 8 × 10⁻⁸ N
- Gravitational constant = 6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ m³ kg⁻¹ s⁻²
To Find :
- The separation between the two objects = ?
Solution :
★ By using newton's law we get :
- F = (Gm₁m₂)/d²
❍ Where, ❍
- F = Gravitational force between the two objects
- m₁ = Mass of one object
- m₂ = Mass of another object
- d = The separation between the two objects
- G = Gravitational constant
★ Now,substitue the given values in above formula :
→ F = (Gm₁m₂)/d²
→ 8 × 10⁻⁸ = (6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ × 10 × 15)/d²
→ 8 × 10⁻⁸ = (6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ × 150)/d²
→ d² = (6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ × 150)/ 8 × 10⁻⁸
→ d² = (6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ × 10⁺⁸ × 150)/8
→ d² = (6.67 × 10⁻³ × 150)/8
→ d² = (0.00667 × 150)/8
→ d² = (1.0005)/8
→ d² = 0.125
→ d = √0.35
→ d = 0.35 m
- Hence, the separation between the two objects is 0.35 m.
