Explanation:

Gven:-

gravitational force on the surface of the moon is 1/6 of the gravitational force on the earth. an object weigh 60 N on surface of moon.

To find:-

what will be its weight and mass on surface of earth?

Solution:-

Acceleration due to gravity on the surface of the moon is 1/6 times as that on the earth .

Weight of an object on the surface of the moon=60N

we know that mass is property of the material it always remains same and weight is measure of gravitational force,

hence

mass of object on moon is 60N

Let weight of the object on the surface of the earth be X N

=>X/6=60N

=>X=6×60N

=>X=360N

Answer:-

weight of the object on the surface of the earth =360N
