if both forces act along same direction then the resulting force is maximum=12+8=20N
if both forces act along opposite direction then the resulting force is minimum=12-8=4N

⭐ Greatest resultant force will be = (12 + 8) N
= 20 N
This is possible when the force is acting on the same direction. When the force is acting on the same direction , the resultant force is obtained by adding all the force acting at that point.

⭐ least resultant force will be = (12 - 8) N
= 4 N
This is possible when the force is acting on the opposite direction. We obtain the resultant force by simply subtracting the less force from greater force acting at the point.
