Green Revolution refers to the adoption of modern techniques such as high yield variety seeds (HYV) ,irrigation facilities,fertilizers,tractors,pesticides,etc. It was intoduced in Mexico, Philippines,Pakistan and other developing countries.Green revolution was started in early 1960-1970 and had a positive impact on many states of India .The states like Punjab ,Haryana and Uttar Pradesh has increase in food grain production.The main development was high yield and rust resistant variety of wheat.Mexico earlier used to import wheat but after green revolution it became self sufficient to produce grain.There was a significant increase in the production of wheat in Pakistan.There was a huge economic growth in countries like Thailand ,China,Iran.There was a overall growth in the different regions of country.
