before green revolution, India produced only around 90million tons of food which resulted to be insufficient for the growing population.
but by this green revolution, the productivity increased to 512million tons of food out of which around 70million tons of food is still stored in godowns after the usage of all food to the fullest. so green revolution plays a important roll in keeping the country nourished.
