Green revolution in India

India is an agriculture based country in which about 60% of total persons depend basically on agriculture. After independence there was a great challenge for country against nourishment over increase in population as there is limited space of agriculture land.

Hence is mid 1960(approx) there was development of various techniques for the enormous crop production by the development of high yield plant varieties of wheat, rice, maize etc. It resulted into many times increase in food production.
