Green revolution in India an as result of human resource formation:
If we compare the green revolution of India to that of the Sub Saharan regions, we find that India proceeded through the revolution with an increase in the product whereas the sub-Saharan regions have increased production through an increase in the farmland. But the revolution failed in that region as the human resources started migrating.
Yes. I agree, green revolution of India suggests that direct correlation between the green revolution and human resource formation and development in India.
The green revolution in India was a steady process it took a boost with the introduction of high-quality HYV seeds which were meant to increase the production.
During this time there was large scale industrialization going on so there was no scope of an increase in the farmland and therefore the farmers had to make do in whatever land they owned or were provided with.
This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing as this resulted in efficient uses of lands and resulted in high production from even the smallest of areas.
The consumption and production of wheat saw a significant rise and it was only after this that the agriculture sector became much more stable and the rate of famines went down.
Comparing this to the Sub Saharan regions, the farmlands increased and more & more people were looking to migrate in the urban areas. This left the region with abundant land but no human resources to work on them.
