'Green revolution is a boon'. justify the statement

I agree with the statement that green revolution is a boon because it rapidly increased the agricultural production in the western parts of uttar Pradesh,punjab. It increased the employment opportunities of the people. Many people got employment in the agricultural sector which lead to the increase in the foreign currency. It lead to the development of the national economy.Many modern methods such a fertilisers,pesticides,irrigation pumps , PVC pipes etc..were used to grow plants . MS Swaminathan was the father of the green revolution .
