Green revolution, great increase in production of food grains (especially wheat and rice) that resulted in large part from the introduction into developing countries of new, high-yielding varieties, beginning in the mid-20th century.
It has been 74 years since India has witnessed any full-fledged revolution. But given the present radical changes and circumstances, can we ignore the prospects of one, at all?

India is set to complete her 74 years of Independence today and amidst all the feared celebrations happening, I recently encountered some headlines from journals and dailies. Surprisingly, all they mentioned was India’s need for a ‘revolution’ in all spheres from Education to Agriculture, Industry, Sports and Entertainment as well.
