But he was otherwise not a decent, honest or peace-loving person. He defied laws. He misused his discovery. He was vindictive. When the landlord wanted to eject him, he set fire to the house. He stole money from others and was dishonest too. He was violent and hit Mrs. Hall and Mr. Jaffers. He was thus, a lawless person with weird habits and an irksome temper.
