Rains lashed several parts of the city and its neighbourhood on Sunday with the Met office forecasting more showers during the next two days. The incessant rains was due to the formation of upper air circulation.
Alangayam in Vellore district in north Tamil Nadu received the maximum rainfall of 15 cm in the last 24 hours ended at 8.30 am on Sunday, Regional Meteorological Centre Director N Puviarasan said. “During the next 24-48 hours, due to upper air circulation moderate rainfall may occur across several districts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry”, he told reporters.
