Plants contain meristematic tissue located at certain regions where growth takes place by division of cells. They are present only at the growing regions such as root tip, shoot tip and cambium. Cells of other regions of plant, do not divide and the growth is restricted in those regions.

Answer:

----Growth in plants is restricted to certain regions, because the dividing cells or meristematic cells are localised and not distributed throughout the plant body. The growth due to meristematic cells occurs by an increase in number of cells and not by increase in volume of existing cells.
