The growth of modern Indian intelligentsia started in the nineteenth century when the people from well-belonged families acknowledged the importance of western education to get well-paid jobs. With western education comes the ideals of west like rule of law, rights of people, etc. Soon this intelligentsia used this western education to found the wrongs of British Raj and they asked for greater participation in the governance.
