Since, tomato has about 80 percent moisture and a very mildly acidic pH, it is suitable for growth of many microbes,esp bacteria, like Azospirillum. These bacteria and fungi generate polysaccharides that is visible to us as a film. This film enables microorganisms to survive properly by forming their colonies.
