To obtain the number we will have to subtract 4*2 + 6xy by 3*2 + xy + 3y2.

( 4*2 + 6xy ) - ( 3*2 + xy + 3y2 )

( 8 + 6xy ) - ( 6 + xy + 3y2 )

8 + 6xy - 6 - xy - 3y2

2 +5xy - 3y2

Hence, 2 +5xy - 3y2 should be added to  3*2 + xy + 3y2 to obtain 4*2 + 6xy.
