Guard cells have rigid or elastic walls?justify ur answer

Each stomata is composed of two two special type of cells known as guard cells which control the opening & closing of the stomata.The opposing inner walls of the guard cells are thick and inelastic. The remaining walls are thin and elastic.

guard cells have elastic cells so that they can change their shape when water and salts accumulate in them.if the walls are elastic they will not be able to change their shape . the elastic wall helps in opening and closing of stomata
