General term of an AP,

a_{n} = a + (n-1)d

where a is the first term and d is the common difference

Given:

a_{12} = a+11d = 42.........(1)

a_{22} = a+21d = 62.........(2)

Solving (1) and (2)

a = 20

d = 2

Hence the 25^{th} term,

a_{25} = a +24d

a_{25} = 20+48

a_{25} = 68

Hence the 25^{th} term is 68

a+21d=62

[_] [_]   [_]

----------------

   -10d=-20

       d=-20/-10

    ---------------

a+11d=42

a+11*2=42

a+22=42

a=42-22

a=20

-------------

25th term= a+24d

=20+24*2

=20+48

=68
