The invested amount is 5500 rupees.

Given: Guddi invested some money in a bank at a rate of 6% per annum and after 9 years, she got Rs. 8470.

To find: We have to find the amount.

Solution:

Let the amount which was invested be x.

The amount was invested in simple interest so, we can write-

 \frac{prt}{100} = i

Where 'i' is the interest.

r is the rate of interest which is 6%.

t is the time of investment which is 9 years.

Putting these values in the above equation we get-

 \frac{x \times 6 \times 9}{100} = 8470 - x \\ 54x = 847000 - 100x \\ 154x = 847000 \\ x = 5500

The amount is 5500 rupees.
