Answer:

Factors That Affect the Rate of Evaporation

temperature of the liquid. A cup of hot water will evaporate more quickly than a cup of cold water.

exposed surface area of the liquid. ...

presence or absence of other substances in the liquid. ...

air movement. ...

What are the various factors which affects the rate of Evaporation ?

Factors affecting the rate of Evaporation are :-

Surface area :-Surface area is directly proportional to the evaporation. It means that when surface area increases then evaporation take faster.

For Example:-

  • In a summer season ponds will be dry easily whereas well doesn't.

Temperature :- Temperature is directly proportional to evaporation, when temperature is increases then evaporation is also increases.

Humidity/ moisture :-It is inversely proportional to the evaporation, i.e. when humidity is high in the environment then the rate of evaporation is lower and viceversa.

Wind speed :- Wind speed is directly proportional to evaporation is means that when increase in the speed of wind the moist air is replaced by dry air and hence higher wind speed have faster evaporation.

Nature of the liquid :- The rate of evaporation depends upon the nature of liquid some liquid like petrol, alcohol evaporate faster than water.
