Ozone is an invisible layer around the earth that is made up of  O3 atoms i.e 3 atoms of oxygen
It reflects much of the rays of sun back from where they come from
If ozone layer was absent then these rays could have caused much damage to the earth by burning everything
Hope this answer helps you

The Answer for the Question is Ozone layer.

Explanation :
Ozone layer in the atmosphere acts as protection or shielding against Strong UV radiations emitted by Sun.
Ozone layer consist of Ozone gas[O3]  present in the stratosphere region of atmosphere at a height of 23-25km.

The Ozone layer is important as it filters harmful high energy UV radiations coming from Sun.

UV radiations split Ozone into Molecular Oxygen and atomic oxygen.
O3---> O2 + O + Heat
As atomic oxygen is highly reactive, again Ozone is reformed .

Depletion of Ozone layer has side effects like causes skin cancer, Irritation in eyes,damage to immune system, crop yielding will decrease  etc.
