Gulliver was the third of the five sons of his parents. His father owned a small estate in Nottinghamshire. When Gulliver was fourteen years old he was sent to Emannel college in Cambridge. He state there fo three years and applied himself closely to his study the charge of maintaining him being too great for a his narrow future, he had to become an apprentice to Mr. John Bates. He was very fond of travelling he had undertake two voyages when he married rich hear mary and settled in London. Since his medical practice was not running well,he started the voyages in the ship as a doctor.
