Gulliver was quite resourceful and versatile. It was owing to his resourcefulness that he could survive and wriggle out of tight corners. He was prepared to meet the unexpected at any time. Gulliver was quite polite and amiable. His ability to adapt was remarkable. Any new land he found himself, he adapted himself to the situation. For example in the country of Lilliput, he adapted to their life style. He tried his level best to please the Emperor and the Lilliputians. However, they hatched a conspiracy against him, which he came to know from a friendly lord at the Emperor's court. He could easily have destroyed the kingdom of Lilliput, but he decided to leave it secretly. Gulliver had the knack of befriending almost any stranger. His ability to learn any language always proved his strength. His diplomatic skills helped him take refuge at Blefuscu; he had made up his mind to leave the land of Blefuscu; he stayed there only till he had made all the preparations to travel to his home country. Fortunately, he found an upturned boat near a beach and with the help of Blefuscudians he repaired it. He was a great practical man. His survival instincts and tactics were commendable. Even on his other adventures to the land of Brobdingnag, Laputa, and Houyhnhnms, he showed agreeable qualities that helped him survive and deal with critical situations.
