Given

Nitre = 75 %

Sulphur = 10 %

Charcoal = 75% + 10 % + x = 100 %

= 85 % + X = 100 %

= X = 100 % - 85 %

= X = 15 %

charcoal = 15 %

We Find

Quantity of charcoal in 8 kg Gun powder

According to the question

( Let percent be x )

  = 75x + 10x + 15x = 8000 \: gm \\  \\  = 100x = 8000 \\  \\  = x =  \frac{8000}{100}  \\  \\   = x=\cancel \frac{8000}{100} \\  \\  = x = 80

So,

Nitre = 75 × 80 = 6000 ( 6 kg )

Sulphur = 10 × 80 = 800 ( 0.8 kg )

Charcoal = 15 × 80 = 1200 ( 1.2 kg )

Hence , the quantity Charcoal is 1.2 kg in 8 kg gun powder.

Let percent be x

\begin{gathered}= 75x + 10x + 15x = 8000 \: gm \\ \\ = 100x = 8000 \\ \\ = x = \frac{8000}{100} \\ \\ = x=\cancel \frac{8000}{100} \\ \\ = x = 80\end{gathered}

Charcoal = 15 × 80 = 1200 ( 1.2 kg )
