First case -
c.p = 2970
S.P = 2970+ 10 %
= 3267
profit = 3267 -2970
297
Second case
C.p = Rs2970
S.P =2970- 10 %= 2673
loss =2970-2673 =297
total profit or loss % =0%

Solutions :-

We have,
Gurpreet sells two watches for Rs 2970 each

Find the cost price of one watch at gain of 10% :-

C.P = (S.P × 100)/(100 + gain)
= (2970 × 100)/(100 + 10)
= 297000/110
= 2700

Find the cost price of other watch at loss of 10% :-

C.P = (S.P × 100)/(100 - loss)
= (2970 × 100)/(100 - 10)
= 297000/90
= 3300

Now,
We have,

Selling price of two watch = Rs (2970 + 2970) = Rs 5940
Cost price of two watch = Rs (2700 + 3300) = Rs 6000

Cost Price > Selling price

Loss = C.P - S.P
= Rs (6000 - 5940)
= Rs 60

Loss % = (loss × 100)/ C.P %
= (60 × 100)/6000 %
= 6000/6000 %
= 1 %

Answer : His loss percentage in the whole transaction = 1 %
