THE WHISTLE
the sun was rising brightly. he was amazed. it was raining heavily a minute back suddenly it started raining again. now confused he thought about what he should do as it was his first day at his office. He thought about whether he should go or should wait till the rain stops. then suddenly there he saw an umbrella vendor he was selling his umbrellas and luckily he was having just one umbrella left. He quickly went there and asked the umbrella vendor to give him the last umbrella. He was very happy that now neither he would be wet nor he would be late to his office. After covering a short distance he saw an old man sitting at the footpath he was all wet and shivering with cold, he was stunned looking at him he wanted to help him but how? Then he thought about something and went to the old man he gave him his coat and his umbrella. the old man was very pleased at his generosity he thought of gifting something to the young fellow but he had nothing other than just a small whistle. so, without thinking much he took the wistle out and handed it over to the young man. at first the young man was feeling very pity for taking just a small whistle but then when the old man insisted he took it and went back his way. He was a little late for his office and also he was wet all over. His boss scolded him a lot for coming late the very first day but he was happy that he had helped someone needy. at noon, suddenly a fire broke out in his office he hurriedly ran out of the office but fell into a pit and as construction work was going in the next building no one was able to hear his voice he was very scared and sad and was thinking how to get out suddenly he remembered the whistle which the old man gave him in the morning he quickly took it out and blewed it with all his might. A construction worker was passing by, he heard the whistle and he drawed the young man out of the pit . the man was feeling very much thankful to the old man for giving him " a whistle ".
