I hope you know what is rationalising the denominator.

So what you've got to do is, you've got to rationalise the denominators of all these terms.

It may sound to much at beginning but soon you'll realise that there is a pattern, all the numbers apart from 1 and √9 are positive and negative. They cancel out each other.

So one is left with 1+√9 = 1+3 = 4 which is the answer.

I could've solved it fully but then you wouldn't learn what is actually happening. I wanted you to understand it otherwise it wouldn't have been so useful.
