Answer:

present age of ron = 6 years

present age of Aaron = 1 year

let us assume the present age of Ron to be 'a'

if our assumption is correct then according to the question we can assume the present age of Aaron as 'a - 5'

calculating Ron's age after 4 years

= a + 4 years

calculating Aaron's age after 4 years

= a - 5 + 4

= a -1 year

framing a linear equation according to the question

a+4 = 2(a-5+4)

a+4=2 a - 10 + 8

a+4=2a-2

a-2a= -4 - 2

-1 = -6

taking -1 to the other side of the equation we get

a = -6/-1

a =6

therefore, the value obtained from a is 6

therefore, the present age of ron will be 6 years as we assume the present age of ron as 'a'

calculating the present age of Aaron

who age we have assumed as "a-5"

a -5

putting the value of a

= 6 - 5

=1

therefore the present age of Aaron is 1 year
