Idioms & Their Meanings:

a) Chicken hearted fellow:

  • It is used to refer anyone coward or about someone who gets scared easily i.e. a timid nature.

'Chicken' here means a coward bird who starts panicking insanely in small things too.

Example:-

  • His is a chicken-hearted man; he cannot see down from a height.

b) To cast pearls before a swine:

The above idiom simply refers wasting time or valuable things on those who totally don't deserve or appreciate these.

  • 'Pearls' refer to the valuable and priceless things whereas 'swine' is used as a contradictory referring to a unpleasant person / thing.

Example:-

Nowadays, Playing classical theme music is like a casting pearls before a swine to the highschoolers.
