Given,

A number is as much greater than 15 as it is less than 51.

So,

=> 15 + x = 51 - x

=> 15 - 51 = - x - x

=> -36 = -2x

=> -36 / -2 = x

=> 18 = x

Thus, the number is 15 + x = 15 + 18 = 33

51 – x = 51 – 18 = 33

So, the required number is 33.
