guys if you don't mind one more..
find two numbers such that one of them exceeds the oyher by 9 and ther sum is 81.

y = x + 9
x + y = 81
Substitute
x + x + 9 = 81
2x = 72
x = 36
y = 45
x + y = 81
Substitute
x + x + 9 = 81
2x = 72
x = 36
y = 45

let one number be x
there fore the other no. would be x+9
according to the question-
x+x+9=81
2x=81-9
2x=72
x=36
other no. = 36+9
=45
two numbers are 36 & 45
