Step-by-step explanation:

In triangle A B C ,

BY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM ,

(AB) ^2 = (AC)^2 + (BC)^2 ........(i)

SINCE TRIANGLE A B C IS AN ISOSCELES TRIANGLE

SO , THEREFORE AC = BC ........(ii)

From (i) and (ii)

(AB)^2 = 2(AC)^2 (PROVED)
