Answer:

Resistance of electric lamp is 5 ohm

Explanation:

Ohm's law: V = IR.

Given that resistance of conductor is 5 ohm and they r connected in series so thus, total resistance is (5+x) ohms, if x is resistance of lamp.

R = V/I = 10 / 1

x+5=10

Thus, x = 10 - 5 = 5 ohms.

If another resistance of 10 ohm connected in parallel total resistance, 2 10 ohm resistance in parallel so:

R = (10*10)/10+10 = 100/20 = 5. So total resistance 5 ohm. Voltage is not changing. Thus new current I = V/R = 10/5 = 2 amperes.

Total current 2 amperes. Change in current across 5 ohm conductor is

I = V/R = 10/5 = 2 amperes only. Previously, current was 1 ampere. So change is 2-1 = 1 ampere as parallel connection current increases.

Potential difference remains same across parallel connections.
