GUYS PL HELP NOW ...... When ice (density 0.9g/cc) floats in water 90% of it is below the water surface. when a solid X of unknown density floats in methanol(density 0.8g/cc),50% of it is below the surface. What is the density of X?

Answer:

0.4 g/cc

Explanation:

as we can that the density of water is 1g/cc and that of ice is 0.9g/cc and 90% of the ice below the water surface.

so, it can be clearly judged that if 50% of X is below the surface of methanol of density 0.8g/cc. Hence the density of X must be 0.4g/cc.

simple unitary method.no formulas and all.

follow if that helped.
