13x - 12y = 25
shifting the values to get the standard equation of a straight line we get
13x - 12y - 25 = 0
this is similar to
ax + by + c = 0
to transform this equation into y=mx +c
we need to move the terms around a bit
the way to transfor standard equation in y=mx+c is
Ax +By+C=0
By= -Ax -C
y= -Ax/B -C/B
where m =-A/B and c =-C/B
using this method in 13x-12y -25=0 we get
y=-13x/12 + 25/12
where m = -13x/12
and c = 25/12

nidhi411: but we need to find m and c
kiritosao2002: yes sorry i accidentally pressed answer.... I've edited my answer now....i hope it helps....best of luck for your exam
nidhi411: i didnt understand
kiritosao2002: ok.... what's your doubt

Given Equation is 13x - 12y = 25.

We have to transpose the terms to get the y value.

-12y = -13x + 25

y = \frac{13}{12} x + \frac{-25}{12}

Hence the given equation is in the slope-intercept form y = mx + c

m = 13/12 and c = -25/12

On substituting the values of x = 1 and y = 1.

We get

13x - 12y = 25

13(1) - 12(1) = 25

1 = 25

Hence They are not the solutions of the equation

Hope this helps!.
