we have a formula
v = u - at
0 = 40 - (10)t
-40 = -10 t
t = 4 sec
Distance travelled in 4 sec
S1 = ut + 1/2 at²
=> 40 × 4 - 0.5 × 10 × 4²( upward direction g in negative)
=> 80m
a) in 2 sec
in this initial velocity becomes zero because particle came in downward direction and gravity pulls this ( '+')
here time is less we will taking it -2 sec or 2 sec
