Explanation:

Acceleration is given by

a={dv\over dt}  i.e., slope of the given graph

Since, velocity is increasing till 10 seconds, the body is in acceleration. And in next 6 seconds, it is decelerating because velocity is decreasing.

So, for time interval between t = 0 to t = 10 sec.,

Acceleration, a={dv\over dt}={15\over10}=1.5\,\,m/s^2

And, for time interval between t = 10 to t = 16 sec.,

Deceleration = {15\over6}=2.5\,\,m/s^2

Distance covered by body is given by

s=v\times dt i.e., area of the graph

So, Distance covered will simply be

({1\over2}\times15\times10)+({1\over2}\times15\times6)=120\,\,metres
