Answer:

The answer is 5/7

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator of the original fraction bee x.

By question, denominator = 2 * x - 3

         the original fraction  = x / 2x - 3

1/2 is subtracted from the numerator = (x - 1/2) / 2x - 3

3/5 is added to the denominator       = (x - 1/2) / 2x - 3 + (3/5)

new fraction                                         =  45/76

∴ (x - 1/2) / (2x - 3 + 2/5) = 45/76  [ lcm is 5]

= (x - 1/2) / (2x - 12/5)  = 45/76 [ cross multiplication ]

76(x - 1/2) = 45 (2x - 12/5)

76x - 38 = 90x -108 [ 76x is taken to the right side of the equal to sign and and -108 to the left sign of the equal to sign]

108 - 38 = 90x - 76x

70 = 14x

x = 70/14

x = 5

∴ The numerator = 5

  The denominator = 2x - 3

                                = 2 * 5 - 3

                                = 10 - 3

                                = 7

∴The original fraction is 5/7
