Explanation:

a metalloid is an element that has properties that are intermediate between those of metals and non metals.

they are also called as semimetals.

EXAMPLES:

boron

silicon

antimony

germanium

tellurium

polonium

carbon

astatine

tennessine (new)

krypton

oganesson(new)

  • they look like metals but they don't conduct electricity hence they are "semiconductors".
  • they are brittle
  • chemically, they behave mostly as nonmetals
  • they can form alloys with metals.
  • most common metalloids are BORON, SILICON, GERMANIUM,ARSENIC, ANTIMONY. all remaining are least common or not well known as metalloids

hope it helps...
