Required Answer:-

Given to find:

  • The area of shaded region.

Solution:

Here,

➡ AC = 12cm.

➡ BC = 16cm.

As ΔABC is a right angled triangle,

➡ AB² = AC² + BC²

➡ AB² = 12² + 16²

➡ AB² = 144 + 256

➡ AB² = 400

➡ AB = √400

➡ AB = 20cm.

Now, you can see that AB is the diameter of the semicircle. So,

Radius = 20/2cm = 10cm.

Area of the triangle,

= 1/2 × AC × BC

= 1/2 × 12 × 16

= 12 × 8

= 96cm²

Area of the semicircle,

= πr²/2

= 3.14 × 100/2

= 314/2

= 157cm²

So, area of shaded region

= Area of the Semicircle - Area of the the Triangle

= (157 - 96) cm²

= 61cm²

Hence, the area of the shaded region is 61cm²

Answer:

  • Area of the shaded region is 61cm²
